SUMMARY:JTC-Dialog "Pollutions & Solutions"
DESCRIPTION:Pollutions & Solutions – Minimise Risks of Environmental Contamination\, Use Ressources and Shape Change Together\nHow can we better understand and minimise the risks posed by environmental contamination – whilst at the same time developing new approaches to managing contaminated resources? This question is at the heart of the JTC Dialogue “Pollutions & Solutions”. The JTC Dialogue brings together experts from academia\, industry and regional development to pool experiences\, combine perspectives and discuss new approaches to solutions. \nThe aim of the dialogue is to identify specific areas for cooperation between academia\, regional stakeholders and partners from the field in the Central German mining region. \nThe discussion will be kicked off by brief presentations from the worlds of research and practice – covering contaminated site remediation\, resource utilisation and new approaches to collaboration in remediation. \nThe exchange will take place in German. The day’s agenda can be found here: Programm \nAre you interested in exchange and dialogue about this topic and would like to participate in the JTC Dialogue? Please get in touch with Dr. Stephanie Jahn:E-Mail: stephanie.jahn@jtc.uni-halle.de

SUMMARY:Collaboration for Impact: Working Across Projects\, Teams\, and Networks (part 1/3)
DESCRIPTION:Collaboration is at the heart of turning ideas into impact – especially in regions undergoing transformation. \nThis seminar focuses on how to move from ideas to joint action. You will explore how entrepreneurial thinking unfolds not only individually\, but in teams\, networks\, and real-world collaborations. \nUsing practical examples of both successful and failed initiatives\, we will reflect on what enables cooperation – and where tensions arise. You will develop your own mission statement as a way to provide direction and inspire others\, while gaining hands-on experience in networking and navigating conflicts. \nThrough a combination of theory\, practical exercises\, and reflection you will discover how communication\, trust\, and shared vision become key drivers for creating sustainable impact. \nLecturer: Dr. Claudia Langosch \nRegistration for the seminar series on StudIP. \nTake-aways \n\nUnderstand what drives and blocks collaboration and success\nNavigate complexity and conflicting interests\nDevelop and communicate your own mission\nBuild relationships that create impact\n\nContent\nStart:\nWhat enables collaboration – and why do good ideas often fail in practice?\nHow do communication\, trust\, and shared understanding shape joint action?\nWhat typical tensions arise when working with others in complex settings? \nExplore:\nHow do different perspectives and interests influence collaboration?\nWhat patterns can we observe in successful and failed projects?\nHow can I communicate my ideas in a way that invites others to engage?\nWhat role do relationships\, networks\, and conflicts play in shaping outcomes? \nTransfer:\nClarify and articulate your own mission statement.\nStrengthen your ability to connect\, collaborate\, and navigate tensions.\nFeel more confident in bringing others on board and turning ideas into impact. \nTarget Audience: Doctoral students and postdocs \nTerms and Applications: \n\nThe seminar consists of 3 appointments and additional online learning modules (workload about 25 SWS). It’s not possible to attend only one appointment.\nApril 17th\, May 8th\, June 5th 2026\, 9 am – 12:30 pm\nFormat: on-site at MLU\nLocation: Weinberg Campus\, Biozentrum\, Weinbergweg 22\, Raum D 2.10 (2. Etage)\nWorkshop-Language: English\nPlease register for the seminar via Stud.IP\nApplications are considered in chronological order of receipt. You get information via Stud.IP.

SUMMARY:Recombinant proteins for tissue engineering applications
DESCRIPTION:Symposium at Termis 2026: Accelerating multidisciplinary innovation to close the gap in clinical translation\nAt the conference TERMIS EU-Chapter “Accelerating multidisciplinary innovation to close the gap in clinical translation” from April 21 to 24\, 2026 in Palma de Mallorca\, Dr. Constanze Zwies will lead a symposium titled “Recombinant proteins for tissue engineering applications”.  \nProteins as essential component of the extracellular matrix are of significant importance for physiological wound healing and the artificial reproduction of tissue by forming an optimal scaffold for cell growth\, binding important signaling molecules and presenting peptide-motifs that control cell differentiation. In contrast to natural protein-based materials in tissue engineering e.g.\, Collagen\, GelMA and Fibronectin\, recombinant proteins can be a great benefit. Their potential for medical applications can be increased immensely through their genetic modification. With the design of artificial proteins via biomimetic approaches or even AI-based techniques we can expand the sequence-space that nature does not use in order to find new and improved functionalities according to the special needs of the biomaterial. This symposium will deal with the opportunities that bioengineering and biotechnological approaches enable. Which protein motifs are promising and are used for different applications within the TERM already? How can AI-based methods like Rosetta help us to create even better performing materials?
