This project examines green Financialisation<\/em><\/strong> dynamics and emerging financing mechanisms for ecosocial transformation<\/em><\/strong>, with a focus on Just Transition Funds <\/em>(JTFs) and Just Energy Transition Partnerships<\/em> (JETPs) and Germany\u2019s Carbon Contracts for Difference<\/em> (CCD).<\/p>\n

By analysing Germany\u2019s dual role as both a \u2018recipient\u2019 of transition funding and \u00a0a \u2018donor\u2019 and investor in Global South contexts, the study critically evaluates the potential and limitations of these mechanisms in advancing equitable and sustainable energy transitions.<\/p>\n

Adopting a comparative socio-legal approach, the research explores how<\/span> <\/span>innovative governance arrangements –<\/span> <\/span>including diverse <\/span>public-private-partnership constellations<\/span><\/em><\/strong> <\/span>– shape transitions and address or reproduce<\/span> <\/span>global climate and energy in\/justice<\/span><\/em><\/strong>. Particular attention is paid to the role context-sensitive regulation and<\/span> <\/span>legal plural transition frameworks<\/span><\/em><\/strong> <\/span>in mitigating exclusion within public-private and donor-recipient relations. The analysis foregrounds the shifting global power dynamics that structure access to and control and ownership over transition finance, particularly in postcolonial and transregional contexts.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
