Dr. Jan Winkler ist Humangeograph und leitet derzeit eine Forschungsgruppe am \u201eEuropean Centre of Just Transition Research and Impact Driven Transfer\u201c an der Universit\u00e4t Halle-Wittenberg (Deutschland). In seiner Forschung besch\u00e4ftigt sich Jan Winkler mit Fragen von Diversit\u00e4t, Identit\u00e4t und Differenz, mit den emotional-affektiven Dimensionen klimapolitischer Auseinandersetzungen sowie mit weiter gefassten Fragen der gesellschaftlichen Transformation.<\/p>\n

Dar\u00fcber hinaus leitet er seit 2024 ein drittmittelgef\u00f6rdertes Forschungsprojekt zu “St\u00e4dtischen Geographien des Verlusts im Kontext sozial-\u00f6kologischer Transformation”. Jan Winkler sammelte eine breite Expertise in Bezug auf verschiedene Lehrformate, gab interdisziplin\u00e4re Seminare und Exkursionen in Kooperation mit dem Zentrum f\u00fcr Islam und Recht in Europa (EZIRE) in Erlangen und war an Lehrkooperationen mit dem Institut f\u00fcr Migration und Interkulturelle Studien (IMIS) in Osnabr\u00fcck beteiligt.<\/p>\n

Von 2016 bis 2020 arbeitete er in einem DFG-gef\u00f6rderten Projekt zu lokalen Aushandlungen muslimischer Identit\u00e4ten und von 2016 bis 2019 war er Mitglied im DFG-gef\u00f6rderten wissenschaftlichen Netzwerk \u201eHumangeographische Forschungsperspektiven nach dem \u201apractice turn\u2018 in den Sozialwissenschaften\u201c. Jan Winkler wurde 2024 in die Spitzenforschungsf\u00f6rderinitiative \u201eEmerging Talents\u201c der Universit\u00e4t Erlangen-N\u00fcrnberg aufgenommen.<\/p>\n

2023 war Jan Winkler ausgew\u00e4hlter Teilnehmer am \u201eUK-German Frontiers of Humanities Symposium\u201c (interdisziplin\u00e4re ‘think tank’-Veranstaltung), das von der Alexander-von-Humboldt-Stiftung und der British Academy organisiert wird.<\/p>\n

Er publizierte in internationalen Fachzeitschriften, ist Erstherausgeber des Sammelbandes \u201eInterreligious Encounters in Europe: Sites, Materialities and Practices\u201c (erschien 2023 bei Routledge), schrieb Gutachten f\u00fcr die \u201eGeographische Zeitschrift\u201c, \u201eBerichte – Geographie und Landeskunde\u201c, \u201eGeographica Helvetica\u201c und \u201esub\/urban\u201c und war mehrere Jahre bis 2025 Gesch\u00e4ftsf\u00fchrer der \u201eFr\u00e4nkischen Geographischen Gesellschaft e.V.\u201c.<\/p>\n

Co-PI in einem vom “Bundesverband Wohnen und Stadtentwicklung – vhw\u201d gef\u00f6rderten Forschungsprojekt zu on Erfahrungen und Emotionen von Verlust im Kontext sozial-\u00f6kologischer Transformationen in St\u00e4dten (zun\u00e4chst auf 1 Jahr, 1 WIMI-Stelle); in Zusammenarbeit mit Prof. Simon Runkel, Sozialgeographie Jena.<\/p>\n
