The sociologist Daniela Ru\u00df (Leipzig University) and the geographer Thomas Turnbull (Max-Planck-Institute for the History of Science, Berlin) present and discuss their new book “Energy’s History. Toward a Global Canon”. How have people conceptualized, used, and politically negotiated energy throughout history? The volume provides new perspectives on the many facets of energy history and its significance in light of current ecological challenges.<\/p>\n

The book presentation is followed by comments and a discussion with Benjamin Steininger (Cluster of excellence UniSysCat, TU Berlin) and Alexander Klose (JTC, MLU Halle, Team A2<\/a>).<\/p>\n

The GlobeColloquium is a central forum for academic discussion at the Leipzig Research Centre Global Dynamics (ReCentGlobe).
