Scaling technology transfer with
open source and standards
Standards and open source technologies open up and stabilize markets. The economic contribution of standards to gross domestic product in Germany alone is 17 billion euros per year. For open source software and hardware, the contribution in the EU is 80 billion euros. Without standards and open source products, our modern economic infrastructure would be impossible. With more standards and open source, more can be implemented, especially when it comes to the transfer of technologies.
