Lab Launch Space
In our 200 m² Lab Launch Space in Halle, we offer four flexible workspaces that can be adapted to suit a variety of needs. Here, students, researchers, and practitioners work together to develop concrete solutions for the digital transformation of the legal industry, the judiciary, and public administration. This synergy between research, teaching, and practice makes the lab a unique ecosystem for legal innovation.

LegalTech Lab

A vibrant hub of innovation for Saxony-Anhalt, where tomorrow’s legal practice is already being developed today.

Four Work Areas — One Common Goal

Event Room

Flexible use for up to 50 people or divisible into three separate work islands with their own projection screens. Established formats take place here: LegalTech Talk brings practitioners and academics together, LLMs test specialized legal tools in the AI workshop, and doctoral students can discuss current research over lunch at Prompt & Lunch.

Creativity Area

Stepped seating arrangement for 10-15 people with its own projector and screen. The informal atmosphere makes this area ideal for pitch sessions, design thinking workshops, or technical input. Here, we deliberately break with traditional teaching formats and create space for creative legal innovation.

Study Office

Separate area for concentrated work with professional IT equipment and access to legal databases. Here, scientific publications can be written, prototypes programmed, and confidential project meetings held. The quiet atmosphere creates ideal conditions for working on complex legal issues.

Meeting Room / Social Hub

An inviting reception area with comfortable seating, a coffee machine, and secure lockers. Here, days at the LegalTech Lab can get off to a productive start, new project partnerships can emerge from spontaneous encounters, and new ideas can be further developed after events.

Become part of the community!

The Lab is open to anyone who wants to help shape the digital future of the legal industry. Students can write their theses on topics related to digitalization, legal tech, and data and AI law; start-ups can be founded and the next generation of legal apps developed; authorities can test digital administrative solutions; and researchers can work on the theoretical foundations of legal informatics.
Regional impact with international appeal: As part of the Just Transition Center, we are actively shaping structural change in Saxony-Anhalt. We not only retain talent in the region—we attract new talent. Because this is where practical innovation with direct benefits for citizens and administration is created.
