Sophie Altmiks is a PhD candidate and research assistant at the European Centre for Just Transition Research and Impact-Driven Transfer (JTC) and in Digital Geography at Martin Luther University. After completing her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences/Natural Resource Management in Halle (Saale) and Poznan, she studied for her master’s degree in International Area Studies/Human Geography in Halle (Saale) and Milan. Her current projects address issues of Political Ecology, Labour Geography and Energy Humanities with a focus on Labour-environment relations in the context of the heat and energy transition and the transformation of the chemical industry.
