What do the Revierscouts do?

Four people – four regions – one goal.

Our Revier Scouts connect science with society and business in the region. They know the people, topics, and challenges in the region – and they bring them together with the ideas and impulses of research. In this way, they actively support the structural transformation in the Central German Mining District – connected, committed, and as equals.

Structural Change and Future Viability

Due to the coal phase-out and industrial transformation, Halle, the Saale District, Mansfeld-Südharz, Anhalt-Bitterfeld, and the Burgenland District are facing new and region-specific challenges. The regions must move away from traditional industries and invest in the future—sustainable industries, digitalization, and close cooperation between business, research, and education. This is where the Just Transition Center and the Revier Scouts come in.

On site, the Scouts act as intermediaries between the region, practitioners, and the researchers at Martin Luther University. Each regional office thus serves as a hub for knowledge and technology transfer. This is where joint consultations, workshops, and on-site research activities take place.

Who can participate?

All companies, institutions, and associations that want to tackle the challenges of structural change together with the 17 innovation teams of the Just Transition Center—and who want to find scientific answers to the emerging questions.
