The LegalTechLab JTC is making the digitization of the judiciary and public administration in the region a reality. We operate at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation to solve the most pressing challenges facing the public sector.

The LegalTechLab thrives on active engagement with MLU students. That is why we warmly invite anyone interested to get involved in our projects and help shape the digital future of law.

As part of the “Digitization of Enforcement Proceedings” project, open workshops on creating and analyzing flowcharts are held every two weeks. These sessions model practical procedural workflows while deepening legal methodological skills with a special focus on enforcement law. The first session will take place on June 4, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

In addition, we also host our LegalTech Lab get-together every two weeks. In a relaxed atmosphere, we discuss current developments in the field of LegalTech, exchange ideas, and connect students, academia, and practitioners even outside of class sessions. The first session will take place on June 8, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

With our AI-Based Guideline Generator, we are modernizing administrative processes in Saxony-Anhalt. The application automates the creation of complex funding guidelines, reduces bureaucratic burdens, and makes decision-making processes more transparent and efficient.

Through the Digitization of Enforcement Proceedings project, we are collaborating with partners from the judiciary to develop a fully digital enforcement procedure. The goal is to make previously paper-based and time-consuming processes more efficient, transparent, and user-friendly, and to establish Saxony-Anhalt as a model region for the judiciary of the future.

The LegalTech Lab’s Lab-Launch-Space creates an open innovation hub for digital legal and administrative expertise on the campus in Halle. Spanning over 200 m², it features flexible work and creative areas where students, researchers, and industry partners can collaborate on new ideas, digital applications, and innovative projects.

With the ASGLA-Calculator, we are developing a digital support tool for family law in Saxony-Anhalt. The tool enables a transparent and traceable calculation of child support claims in shared custody arrangements while significantly reducing the organizational and computational burden for those involved and legal practitioners.

In the coming summer semester, a diverse program of events invites participants to discuss current issues relating to legal tech, AI, and digitization. The Legal Tech Talks, the AI workshop, and the open exchange format Prompt & Lunch provide regular opportunities to learn about new ideas and share experiences.

Formats such as the open house, participation in the Merseburger Digitaltage, and Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften open the LegalTech Lab to the public and make our work accessible to a wider audience.

The program is supplemented by guest lectures, workshops, seminars organized by the IT & Law Network, as well as selected conference participation and project-related specialist events. Overall, the summer semester offers many opportunities to contribute ideas, join in discussions, and network.
